Afternoon Tea Menu
The Introduction of Afternoon Tea is usually
credited to Anne Seventh Duchess of Bedford
in the early 19th century.
The Duchess complained of
‘having that sinking feeling’
during the late afternoon, and the solution,
at least for her, was a pot of tea and a light snack,
taken privately in her boudoir during the afternoon.
