Why the name, Dakota?


The Dakota aircraft changed the face of air travel in the ‘30’s and today
it encapsulates the Heart, Soul and Spirit behind the DAKOTA brand. Air travel,
once a privilege of the rich elite was revolutionised by this aircraft.
It offered stylish service and cabin accommodation at an affordable price.


This concept applies today to the DAKOTA brand.

    ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

     

    As the face of Dakota, Receptionists must have a genuine warmth and a passion for delivering authentic hospitality. Primary role responsibilities include to:

    -Carry out core Receptionist duties such as checking guests in and out, processing payments, making reservations, and confirming bookings.

    -Have a focus on documenting guest preferences and information on their profile in order to enhance the level of guest service that can be provided.

    -Ensure that all repeat guests and other VIP’s receive special attention and recognition.

    -Work closely alongside all other departments to ensure excellent communication amongst all employees.

    -Be proactive in offering additional services to make the guest experience more seamless i.e. making restaurant reservations, assisting in directions, delivering items to room.

    -Be switchboard for the hotel, answered all calls immediately and within 3 rings in a professional manner eg. ‘Good morning Dakota’.

     

    CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

     

    -You must have at least one years working experience as a Receptionist, or have worked in retail or food & beverage.

    -Have an outgoing personality and genuinely enjoy speaking with people.

    -Be adept to learning and using Microsoft package systems, as you will be given full training to use our Property Management System extensively in your role.

    -You are expected to look immaculate with pristine uniforming and personal presentation.

    -Full-time contracts carry a 40 hour per week contract.

    -The successful applicant will be willing and able to work any 5 days out of 7, with general shift times being 6:45-15:15 and 14:45-23:15.

    -Previous training in responsible alcohol sales and food hygiene is favoured but not required as this training will be provided upon starting.

    -Physically able to carry out light Housekeeping duties where required and be standing for the entirety of your shift.

    Role responsibilities

    The heart and soul of our Hotel, is our award-winning bar and restaurant. Delivering a brasserie style of service, The Grill at Dakota is profiled for having a seasonal menu and take take pride in using the best ingredients possible.

    The successful applicant will have the following experience, characteristics and abilities:
    • Commitment to driving our ethos of doing the simple things brilliantly
    • Passion for creating dishes using seasonal ingredients and fresh produce
    • At least three years’ experience as a Commis Chef or above at a quality establishment
    • A qualification in professional cookery is favoured.
    • Confident in working in a busy professional kitchen which can regularly serve between 100-150 covers a night
    • Previous qualifications in Food Safety are preferred, although training in Health & Safety, Allergens, and Food Hygiene standards and procedures will be given

We are dedicated to developing individuals with personality
and ambition, irrespective of age or experience.


Our structured development programmes will be the
catalyst from which successful applicants will fast-track their careers.


At DAKOTA, the only limit to your success is your own drive.
Our Graduate Development opportunities are tailored
to you, the individual. Shaped by your future career aspirations, previous
working experience and personal ambitions, your management internship is
structured for a minimum of 6 months, and up to 1 year, with the aim of
successfully applying for a management position upon completion.


To attain one of our flexible Graduate Development programmes, we ask
that you have achieved a BA or above in the past 2 years, preferably in areas of:
Hospitality, Tourism, Events, Business or English.

We offer structured internships based in one of our operational departments for
a minimum of 12 weeks. Personalised to your development needs, students can apply
