Why the name, Dakota?


The Dakota aircraft changed the face of air travel in the ‘30’s and today
it encapsulates the Heart, Soul and Spirit behind the DAKOTA brand. Air travel,
once a privilege of the rich elite was revolutionised by this aircraft.
It offered stylish service and cabin accommodation at an affordable price.


This concept applies today to the DAKOTA brand.

    ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

    Wash all pots, pans, crockery, glassware, and cutlery throughout the day.

    Store and organize all clean items, ensuring the Chefs have all required equipment.

    Carry out a clean down of the Employee Break Room daily and a deep clean of the Kitchen twice daily.

    Ensure the Back of House areas are clear from obstruction.

    Follow the correct waste disposal and recycling procedures, maintaining the waste storage area within the hotel.

    Follow health and safety procedures closely at all times particularly pertaining to the handling of waste and manual handling.

    Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of safe chemical handling guidelines and best practice relating to the immaculate upkeep of food preparation areas.

     

    CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

    Be seeking a permanent contract, paid on a monthly basis, for 42.5 hours per week.

    Willing and able to work 07:00-16:00 or 15:00-00:00 shifts. Must be able to work any 5 days out of 7.

    Cleaning experience is preferred.

    Someone who is driven to work alone.

    A reliable and dependable individual.

    Previous training in health & safety or chemical handling is beneficial but not required as this training will be provided upon starting.

    Physically able to be physically active and be standing for the entirety of your shift.

    – Work through an ongoing list of reactive maintenance tasks such as paintwork, light plumbing, changing light bulbs, siliconing etc.

    • Part-time contracts are for either 18 or 24 hours per week, and full-time contracts are 30 or 35 hours per week.
    • Team members on full-time contracts must be able to work any 5 days out of 7, and availability of days able to work for part-time team members must be communicated at least one month in advance.
    • General shift times are 17:00-23:30 Sunday – Thursday, and 17:00-00:30 Friday & Saturday.

    The Nights Supervisor is responsible for supporting the Night Duty Manager in handling emergency evacuations, as well as the completion of nightly tasks such as cleaning duties, setting up the Bar & Grill, and carrying out floor walks of the property.

    The role also carries out Reception functions such as checking-in and out guests, making reservations and handling guest billing. The shift consists of carrying out the Night Audit, banking, and completion of the Nights Checklist including ensuring the immaculate cleanliness of our meeting rooms and public areas, as well as the Bar & Grill. In the absence of the Bar Team, the role will also serve guests on an ad hoc basis in the bar.

    The purpose of the role is to take reservations for all areas of food and beverage, and manage the booking diary with the dualistic objectives of ensuring the operation runs smoothly whilst maximizing covers. Responsibilities of the role include:

    • Managing guest requests and ensuring all information is passed onto the operational team to fulfill. • Work closely with bedroom reservations to develop comprehensive guest profile notes and ensure the flow of communication to improve the guests overall experience.

    • Have a full understanding of the capacities of the operation, and ensure reservations are coordinated in a manner which gives guests the best dining experience possible.

    • To take on the role of host during service times and have a hands-on approach to the grill operation.

    • Carry out ring arounds to contact all guests before arrival to confirm their booking.

    You will support the Restaurant Manager in driving the highest levels of menu knowledge within your team by giving one-on-one coaching and completing individuals’ New Start Training Plan, to delivering briefings and holding Reviews & Appraisals.

    This vacancy carries a permanent 42.5 hour pw contract, and shift patterns are any 5 out of 7 days, working all lates.
